Drop-in Meditation and Buddhism Nights in North Wicklow
Starting weekly from Tuesday 15th January 2019
7.30pm - 9.30pm
The North Wicklow Buddhist Group will host a series of evenings, beginning on Tuesday 15th January, exploring the stupa, which is a mound-like or hemispherical structure that sometimes contains Buddhist relics and is often used as a place of meditation. It is a edifice rich in symbolism that can tell us much about the nature of spiritual practice.
The series of evenings that we will host will explore, among other things: the history and development of the stupa; the four elements of ‘matter’; the five elements and psycho-spiritual energy; how to activate one’s spiritual energies; and the symbolism of the Flaming Drop, which sits at the very top of the structure.
The evenings will begin at 7.30pm with a meditation, followed by a chance to talk about meditation and practice, and then a presentation on the theme.
All are welcome, no previous experience of meditation or Buddhism is needed.
Our next Introduction to Buddhist Meditation will take place on Sunday 27th January from 10.30am - 1pm in the Kilcoole Community Centre
